Something Wonderful

Every morning I look out my window,
See the sunrise over the boring rooftops.
Well I guess that’s only when it’s sunny,
And here the rain pours like money.
Isn’t it funny?
I need a little time.
I’ll pour myself a little glass of wine,
And breathe.
‘Cause darling my eyes can see
What’s right there in front of me.
It’s something wonderful,
And I know
I just have to realise,
I don’t have to close my eyes,
For me to see,
There’s something wonderful
In me.
I’ll munch on my breakfast at half past 12,
I am not trying to prove myself,
I am just living.
Living while fading.
Go tell your sister, your brother,
Your father, your mother
That high expectations are not worth the bother.
We’re just living.
Living while fading.
I need a little more time,
I’ll pour myself a bigger glass of wine,
And breathe.
‘Cause darling my eyes can see
What’s right there in front of me.
It’s something wonderful,
And I know
I just have to realise,
I don’t have to close my eyes,
For me to see,
There’s something wonderful
In me.
There’s something wonderful
In me.
